About
Bio
I live in Cub Hill, Maryland with my wife Adele and my two stepsons, both of whom attend Pine Grove Elementary School.
Both of my parents are public school teachers who instilled in me, the importance of public service as a basic value and a way of life. I put this value into action early on, starting a project while in College to fight homelessness. I also followed in my parents’ footsteps working with pre-school children as a teaching assistant and working in summer camp during summer breaks.
When I graduated from college, I served in the Pennsylvania State Government, on the staff of the Lieutenant Governor and with the State House of Representatives. These opportunities allowed me to work on issues which I cared and continue to care deeply about including; public schools which deliver excellent education to all children regardless of where they live, creating good paying jobs by supporting industries of the future like bio-tech, alternative energy and information technologies and expanding access to healthcare, which is a right that all citizens have.
Even though I returned to school in 1998, attending Temple Law School, my commitment to public service did not change. My first job while in law school involved fighting for the rights of disabled American by ensuring that the Americans with Disabilities Act was implemented.
After graduating law school, I traveled to the former Soviet Union, working on a US Government project to spread democracy in former communist countries.
In 2002, I came to Maryland to fight for the passage of the Thornton Public School Reform Bill, which brought unprecedented resources to Maryland public schools. I met my wife, Adele, who is a lifelong Parkville resident, while working to see the Thornton Bill passed. Since Adele and I got married, we made our home in Cub Hill and I started a general law practice to serve residents of Baltimore County and City.
